Activities
MOMS Club ® of Copley/Fairlawn offers a variety of activities. Below are just a few examples of activities members have hosted in the past.
Playgroups– Playgroups are a great way for children to play together while moms chat about the experiences of motherhood. We may meet at a member’s home or at a local part. In addition to all age playgroups, our club offers play groups for designated ages. These playgroups are always inclusive of older and younger siblings as well! The groups are broken down into three groups, Muppet Babies (ages 0-1), Mighty Munchkins (ages 2-3), and Lil’ Rascals (ages 4+).
Public Meet-ups-Members meet-up at a public event or venue. Examples include Summit Mall, the Akron or Cleveland Zoo, local libraries for story time, Akron or Cleveland Children’s Museum, Dewey’s Pizza, Café O’Play, McDonald’s or the local fire station. With so many great places in our area, the opportunities are endless.
Craft Days-Craft days allow for our little crafters to show their talents (sometimes with a little help from mom). Crafts have included making paper turkeys for Thanksgiving, painting flower pots, using recyclables to make a bug house.
HOOT & HOWL-A late afternoon, early evening group for members who spouses may be travelling or working late. All members are invited though so even if you just want to make the day go a little faster until your spouse returns home, you can join!
Fitness Clubs-This group meets a few times a month to promote the health and wellbeing of our members. Activities include walks at Sand Run and on the various trails in the area.
Coffee Moms-A great way to meet the other moms for a morning playgroup after dropping the older kids off at school. Children are always welcome to attend as well! We meet at local coffee shops as well as members’ homes.
Freezer Meals Club-Members get together to prepare a few meals to make their evening hours a little less hectic.
Take and Bake-The host selects a recipe and buys the supplies. Members pay the host and get together to prepare a meal or a dessert.
MOMs Breakfast Out-A great way to enjoy a leisurely breakfast out with other members while the kiddos are in school. Children are always welcome!
Mom & Me Book Club-Children will be read a short story and then participate in a craft that goes along with it.
Adult Book Club-A great way to socialize with other members and discuss the latest literary offers.
Mom’s Night Out–You deserve a night off from all of your hard work. Once a month we get together at night to relax and enjoy a little time away. It may be dinner at a restaurant, out to see the latest hit at the box office, a recipe exchange at a member’s house or any other activity one of our member’s dreams up. Each month is something new and different and we hope that you will join us.
Couples Night Out-A great way to interact with members and their spouses and try out some new places to eat or recipes at a member’s home.
Family Day or Family Night Out-A meet-up for all members of the family. These groups are a great way to interact with each other and meet lots of new faces.
Seasonal Parties–We love a party! We like to celebrate all those holidays with a little food, fun and music. There’s costume parties in autumn, winter holiday parties, Valentine parties and egg hunts in the spring. Everybody contributes something whether it be a refreshment, game, craft, or music.
Service projects–Our club wants to do what we can to help others in our community. As a chapter of the International MOMS Club ® , we are committed to complete at least one service project per year. In the past we have sponsored a Mother’s Day Photo Shoot fundraiser to benefit ACCESS, Inc., participated in the WKDD Radio-thon Change Bandits to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital, donated clothing and baby equipment to Akron Pregnancy Services, purchased school supplies for Good Neighbors, and assembled layettes to send to Haiti.
